Client news - COVID-19 standards updated (11.05.2020.)

We are happy to announce that Croatia has opened its borders for travelers within the Schengen area, so you are now able to visit Croatia without previously required 14-days self-isolation!

Dear friends & patients,

We are currently facing perhaps the greatest business, financial and social challenges on a global level that may change our future daily routines. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, unfortunately, we cannot travel and discover new places, new cultures, and customs. We also aren’t able to meet people or hang out with old friends and share new news. As things currently stand, we won’t be able to cross the road for quite some time.

As if these restrictions were not enough, on March 22, Zagreb was hit by a strong earthquake after 140 years, where many buildings were destroyed, running people to the streets due to the damage while they should be following the #stayhome philosophy. Unfortunately, one young life was taken as a result of the earthquake, and many people were evicted from their homes.

At the moment, while everything isn’t working and is closed temporarily, we want to inform you that our office is open until our competent institutions (Croatian Dental Chamber and the Ministry of Health) decide otherwise. We believe and know that this situation will not last a whole lifetime, and we will overcome this situation. It will take us a while to get back to the routine and our normal way of life. Yet when everything calms down, and our lives go back to normal, we are sure that there will be many of us whose priorities will be work, family, restoring a normal social life, and you may put your smile and taking care of your teeth aside.

Our B.Dent team will be sure to contact you and talk to you about further procedures and plans to visit Croatia and our dental clinic. We will work hard to restore your confidence and your smile after several months of isolation and challenging times.

Also, we must mention that due to the current situation, guidelines have been set for us that we must strictly adhere to, and for this reason, we convey them to you in order for you to be informed.

  • We reduce the number of patients and their accompanied individuals in the waiting room. No one should be in the waiting room for longer than 5 minutes, and we hereby request that your accompanied husband, wife, mother/father, or son/daughter wait outside the practice.
  • To reduce the number of patients in the practice, we are currently only able to receive EMERGENCY CASES. Thank you for your understanding, and try to take this situation seriously. A ‘quick check-up’, ‘loose baby’s tooth’, or ‘something is too high or low’ is not considered an emergency. Responsible behavior will protect others.
  • As long as the situation allows us, we will be there for you, accept you and bring a smile on your face. If a different situation arises, we will notify you promptly.
  • Given that we are a dental institution that cares for your health, we need to reiterate (like all health institutions) that you prevent the spread of the disease by regularly and thoroughly washing your hands.
  • If you have a fever or other symptoms, please do not come to the practice because we would like to protect you, other patients and the rest of our staff.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot avoid close contact with you if your tooth hurts and we need to repair it, but you can avoid contact with others. We will prevent handling you on your arrival and departure. DON’T TAKE IT TO HEART, some of the instructions are attached.
  • To ensure clean and sterile rooms, we have always adhered to the highest standards that may not have seemed relevant to you so far, but this time we will repeat them to you and make you aware of what is being done before your arrival and after your departure:
    • Apply the highest standard of equipment sterilization
    • Thoroughly disinfect the practice
    • Carry out regular internal education on the disease and keep the space sterile
    • We supply the necessary disposable protection and disinfection equipment for you and as well as our maximum safety
    • Delay the making appointments for patients from crisis areas and those at risk of infection

Regarding the last item (mentioned above), we are obliged to tell you the truthful information about the virus: We stopped working with patients from Italy two years ago. We are sure that some of our long-standing patients knew to run into them in the office and waiting rooms before the end of their appointments.

Patients from other European and world countries experience the same problems, and it was decided that all patients from the currently 54 countries wishing to enter Croatia were obliged to go into self-isolation for 14 days at their own expense – which countries are now not obligated to do anymore, along with all the travel info needed, read here. At that moment, that situation would greatly complicate their stay in Zagreb, so we delayed all patients who were planning on coming to our practice in March and April. While some themselves became aware of the severity of the situation and canceled their arrival until the global situation subsided.

Please, for your own sake and to reduce the number of calls to our practice, the competent institutions previously mentioned have not communicated this to you, but we will: maintain your oral hygiene at least twice a day, brush your teeth thoroughly as directed by your dentist and use floss to remove leftover food between your teeth and to prevent inflamed gums.

We are still at your disposal with questions, consultations, help or inquiries via e-mail , telephone 00 44 800 046 5380, WhatsApp 00 385 91 444 04 03. Also all relevant news and announcements can be found on our social networks

You can always follow us and send us a message to see what we have done so far for our patients who have visited us. Please take care of yourself and others during these times and #stayhome. We will keep in touch and contact you individually when the time comes.

We hope that this global epidemic will come to an end soon and return to a regular routine without buying too much toilet paper. Until then, we want you to continue to laugh with all your heart and look out for your loved ones, #beresponislbe and #stayhome as much as possible.

    Your B.Dent team
